Resisting temptation...
Oh man. Man o manny.
I just got a call from a dear friend who is one of the greatest enablers of all time. He reports that his next door neighbor just sold his spread to some farmers. They are planning on putting up some incredible fences. Amazing fences. Many many dollars worth of fences. Why? Because they raise alpacas. Amazing alpacas. Many many alpacas. Oh yeah. OH YEAH. So, I was invited to meet and greet and work out some kind of barter...Oh YEAHHHHHHHH.
I said, "Later."
Aiiiiieeeeee!

Barter??? What are you going to barter and what are you bartering for???
Jealous, jealous, jealous, JEALOUS!!! What are the chances I'm about to get some alpaca-raising neighbors here in Manhattan????
Ah Jeanie...well, out here in the boonies, we do lots of trades. Now, there are lots of things that I do: 1) I farm - grow crowder peas (black eyed peas,) sweet potatoes, passion fruit, and herbs 2) I'm a painter, and have been known to do "fancy paintin'" on many a wall (faux finishing, murals, venetian plaster etc) 3) My DH and I build furniture (I'm the finisher) 4) I'm a caterer 5) and the fiddler in The Flying Turtles String Band
Any of this would be barterable for...uh...some fiber. Yep.
Ohhhhh.... I get it now!!!
How cool is that??? I wanna barter for some alpaca fiber!!! Now, if only I can talk my neighbors into buying a couple...
